Harry Eggleston,
M.D., F.A.C.S.
Since
1981, Dr. Harry Eggleston has brought improved vision
to over 11,000 patients who have been living with the problems and
inconveniences of glasses or contacts. With over 25 years experience
in practice in the St. Louis area, Dr. Eggleston continues to seek
new ways to improve his patients' vision. He is a member of the American
Academy of Ophthalmology, a fellow of the American College of Surgeons,
and was recently awarded a fellowship in the prestigious Society for
Excellence in Eye Care. He is the president of the Society of Ophthalmic
Inventors which meets yearly at the American Academy of Ophthalmology
meeting.
Dr.
Eggleston was the first surgeon to perform corneal lamellar refractive
surgery for farsightedness and nearsightedness. He was the first
to have an ultrasonic pachymeter and microkeratome. He was the first
ophthalmologist to have vision correction surgery on his own eyes.
He holds 3 to 4 patents for the development of an adjustable/upgradeable
intraocular lens, which will help many refractive patients and possibly
cataract patients in the future. He is actively involved with researchers
at the University of Missouri and other institutions across the
country.
Dr.
Eggleston regularly teaches and attends seminars worldwide. He was
originally trained in vision correction procedures with Dr. Fyodorov
of Moscow. He shares his expertise with many other ophthalmologists,
optometrists, technicians and opticians. Upcoming speaking engagements
include Boston and Venezuela.
